a bit about me...

I grew up in Liverpool, and lived for a time in South Australia, eventually settling in Leeds, Yorkshire.

My schooling was at the local Catholic Grammar School and a Technical school in Adelaide. Following that I got my BA in Fine Art at Liverpool and teaching qualifications in Leeds.

A career as a lecturer in Illustration and Computer Programming in various Further and Higher Education institutions followed.  At the same time I worked as a cover artist and illustrator mainly in speculative and juvenile fiction  - and thus I eventually became a freelance artist.

An interest in technology and Science Fiction attracted me to the nascent computer games industry and thus my output came to be dominated by the lucrative demands of simple pixel graphics.

From these small beginnings developed an all encompassing workload of graphics, teaching and management in this increasingly complex field; the skills of 3D modelling and animation being acquired en route.

Currently I'm indulging myself in a body of work that reflects more closely my outlook... largely free from technological or financial considerations, interested mainly in landscape and texture with a predilection for figurative content involving dilapidation and distress with a side-line in graphical whimsy.

My home is currently a semi-derelict pile of slate in Wales.
